NBTE clarifies ‘skills not degrees’ slogan.

The executive secretary of NBTE made further clarifications on Skills not degrees slogan of NBTE. This is coming following the news of Top up programme for HND holders who according to him have faced career and job stagnation over several decades.

The world is changing from what the title of your qualification is to what you can do as your contribution to the goals of your organisation. To this he said and I quote from the The Punch news report: 

“A paradigm shift to skills and entrepreneurship has become imminent, with skill as the global labour currency for the 21st-century economies.” 

As a dental technologist, you are covered because skill acquisition and use are your currency and no matter where the pendulum swings you will still be relevant. This is because as AI is growing and making waves your job cannot be taken away unlike others but enhanced with Artificial Intelligence.
